Guest
Acquired this curved tube today. Thought it might work on my 41 dual carb air cleaner. Dont know what the three pimples are for on one end. It also has a smaller inside diameter, but I dont think it will matter to operation. Looks about the right length. Is there sposed to be a check valve in the line? Edited July 19, 2018 by Guest (see edit history)
Matt Harwood
Pimples just help hold it in the rubber grommets. The inner tube is probably to help insulate the pipe, likely to keep it from freezing in the winter (as it pulls water vapor into the air cleaner). No check valve, just a pipe to feed crankcase gasses into the air cleaner via the rocker cover.
neil morse
Does anyone know where I can find one of these tubes for my '41? Someone along the line substituted a piece of rubber hose on my car, and it's not the greatest solution. Thanks in advance! Neil
Matt Harwood
Remarkably, a 1/2-inch rigid conduit elbow from Home Depot fits almost perfectly. I trimmed the ends to make it fit, but otherwise it was little more than a coat of paint and some grommets away from being ready to install.
