BamaWildcat
Hey guys, I know this is better suited under the "wanted" section, but I have trouble getting responses out of that forum. I am looking for the idle stator switch that mounts on the opposite end of travel than the kickdown solenoid on a 300 CI V8. This switch puts the two speed transmission into high stall whenever the car is at idle without a foot on the pedal. I need the switch, it's wiring (it connects to the kickdown switch) and it's bracket. Whenever my car was rebuilt (when I didn't own it) they left off this important item . Here is the drawing out of the factory book. If you have one of these or know where I can get one reproduced, please let me know. Thanks! videojoe@_REMOVE_hiwaay.net
Guest
These show up from time to time on ebay. Also I think you can still find some NOS ones at The Buick Farm www.buickfarm.com is their website. Check them out.Good Luck,Mark
YellowLark
The item that you have the arrow drawn towards is a common dashpot. I got one at NAPA two years ago for my '66 right off the shelf. It's bracket can be fabricated from angle iron from a hardware store. The hard item to find that other 300/340 owners are usually looking for is the transmission control detent switch. Guest
The 64 dashpot is special (no pun intended) as it has a micri switch on it to control the stator in the trans. Later versions had the switch on the throttle linkage. So, you will need to find a 64 dashpot/switch for the trans to work properly. The p/n is 1367053. Hope this helps,Mark
