JerryVan
I am tired of fighting with the vacuum tank on my '24 Buick, 6 cyl. I've had it apart half a dozen times, repaired a different thing each time, works great for while, then it doesn't. Currently, seems to cycle just fine, but if I run at any kind of speed, it can't keep up. Anyone have their V.T. restored and happy with the results?? BTW, I'm not putting an electric fuel pump in... Brian_Heil
http://www.classicpreservation.com/vactankkits.html Never used him. Anyone have any experience with him? Glad to hear you are not going electric. I've personally watched two early cars have bad fires due to an electric pump overwhelming an early float and needle that was never meant to hold back several PSI. Keep us posted if you do go with him.
Terry Wiegand
The fellow who restores Stewart-Warner vacuum tanks is John Wolf. He is in Willoughby, Ohio. I do not have his contact information in front of me now, but, if you do a google search you will find what you need to know. He restored all three tanks for my Buicks and two of them run great. The third one has not been put into service as of yet. His company name is - John Wolf and Company. Hope this helps. JerryVan
Brian & Terry, Thanks very much. I found the Classic Preservation site but, as you, don't have any "reviews" to go by. I'll look up John Wolfe. Thanks for the tips guys!
