1940 BUICK SPECIAL 3 SPEED COLUMN SHIFT PATTERN

I just wanted to confirm the shift pattern on the column of the Buick special

 

It is an H pattern with;

 

1st gear toward me and up

 

2nd gear toward me and down

 

3rd gear away from me and up

 

where is reverse?

Normal 3 on the tree

Reverse: pull toward me against spring & up

1st: pull toward me against spring & down

2nd: away from me & up

3rd: away from me & down

In neutral lever will be between 2nd & 3rd (top)
