cahartley
The hand throttle on my Dodge was not operational when I got the car so I guessed at the arrangement and simply bent a piece of 1/4" rod to make the connection. I ran across some photos showing the setup but I've seen many variations. One with a ball swivel at one end, one with ball swivels at both ends which seems correct to me, one with the slider aimed down which also makes sense to me and one with the slider oriented up which does not. I know my current setup isn't right but I had to start somewhere....... How is it supposed to be?
JayG
Here's a shot of mine which I believe to be correct. But....Anyway it works for me. This is a 25. Edited February 17, 2017 by JayG added text. (see edit history)
cahartley
Thanks! That is how I thought it should be....... I have a pair of swivel ball joints because my current arrangement isn't "tight" enough so is erratic and has been aggravating to say the least....... cahartley
So........I discovered something. I got the pair of ball joints but it won't work that way. The slider must have the bent rod to hold its orientation....... Thanks to Jay's photo I was able to zoom in to get a real good look and found I had mistakenly (guessed wrong) put the slider on the wrong side of the cotter pin which explains why my link was so short in comparison. So back to the drawing board and I made a new rod out of brass because I couldn't find a piece of 3/16" steel round to save my soul but I got 'er dun.......
