Anyone else besides me think these were great cars? I recently picked up a clean 1990 model for a song, came with the FE3 package. Handles amazingly and looks gorgeous. They cannot have made many of these...yeah, I know that rarity and worth are not always related! Still, I got the only one in town.

Great car! Same body as our 86 LeSabre Limited Coupe. Ours has the soft suspension and 3.0 V6, however. Not that we mind. The 3.0 is very rare these days and was a high output engine with a little higher comp. and I believe (?) camshaft. I looked at a 89/88 FE3 white w/red leather, very clean interior and fully loaded. Was starting to rust at the front of door post but it still took alot of restraint to not take the 1200.00 out of the bank and buy it. Does yours have the FE3 emblem on it? I didnt know these cars had an emblem until reciently. Also that car I hear has a faster or more feel steering rack as well as lower gear ratio. I also have the Buick "twin", a 1989 LeSabre Limited coupe. It's a fantastic car. Mine is a loaded version with the 3800 engine and has been virtually trouble-free.<P>I know that only 3% of the LeSabre production was the 2-door version, and I suspect that the Olds is equally scarce.

86 and Centurion, yes, I know of the Buick brother to the FE3 Olds...in fact, I used to own one! Had a 1987 Lesabre T-type, to be exact, and recently had decided to find another. I could not find a reasonable one in decent shape, and when I found a 1990 Olds FE3, I went for it. It is identical mechanically to my old T-type. It does have a higher final drive ratio (2.97 vs 2.56 I believe), a closer-ratio steering box, firmer springs and thicker sway bars front and rear, compared to the base model. It also has the FE3 emblems. And I do know of that Buick T BBS. By the way, below is a link to a factory photo of my car...mine is the same color (black), and almost looks as nice as it did when new. I was wondering if you were one of the guys on the T-type site. I like our Limited for its classyness as well. The T-type has a more performance look. I like the stainless and anodized aluminum look more than flat black everything. Though each has its place. I'm also quite fond of the Cherry(cheery) Red interior also. Grey is grey and black is darker tongue.gif" border="0 . I would like to drive the higher performance versions sometime though.<P>Glad you saved one!

IMHO the late 1980's GM H-Bodies with 3800's and performance packages were the pioneers to the nice GM FWD performance sedans of today. Still using the same engines, same systems, same themes....... almost 15 years later. Great cars. Probably one of GM's best FWD cars ever built. Most of them see over 200k. I must see 5 to 20 of them a day easy in good condition driving past me. That says alot.
