Thanks for the reply Bob. They`re both front carbs for the dual carb set-up, of the small and larger engine as you stated.  Tom

The really easy way to convert a 533s into a 528s is to find someone with a 528s to trade!

 

But to answer the asked question: As Bob mentioned, the venturii are different. Since the venturii in the 533s are larger than those in the 528s, one would have to machine a "venturi sleeve" of the proper diameter to reduce the venturii size.

Jon, thanks for the reply. I have a 1941 Buick 248 dual carb engine with the stock 528s(front) and a 543s(rear) with the progressive linkage. I`m thinking of running two front carbs with parallel linkage. Is this a good idea or am I way out of line? Tom
