1925Stanley
Good Morning, Chrysler Brake Experts! My 1925 Stanley has early Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes and I desperately need three wheel cylinder pistons as shown on the right of the attached photos. The diameter is 1.500" and it is 1" tall/high. Call me at (972) 661-9672 if you can help. Thank you very much. Don Hoke
46 woodie
Don, if all else fails they look simple enough for a good machine shop to fabricate. Good luck in your search, might be a tough one.
keiser31
Have you tried Apple Hydraulics or Hagen's to see if they can supply those?
Ivan Saxton
The problem with the wheel cylinder pistons that you photographed is not obvious. Maybe the clearance is too great in the honed cylinder bores. Sleeving the cylinders with stainless steel is a favoured process; which has bee discussed before on these forums. You need to make sure you have enough clearance. Three thou on diameter is about right for new bronze pistons for I inch diameter Lancia brakes. ( I had to sleeve up from 25mm to 1 inch to utilize available rubber -ware. A small bench lathe is a great economy and convenience if you have a mind to do simple restoration work yourself; and you will soon become quite expert, through something like South Bend's little book "How to run a lathe" is very useful instruction and help.
