sweetpotato
Is the crankshaft balancer bolt (straight eight) left or right hand thread? I'm trying to get it off so I can replace the timing cover gasket and front seal. I tried it both ways with my impact wrench with no luck. Thought I'd better ask before I make matters worse. I can't find a clue in the service manual.'

Alternately a helper can stabilize the crank with a large screwdriver or other tool between the ring gear and the block. Buy the beer now, because you will need the helper to install .
