I have a 64 riviera with a tapping/knocking noise in motor. Engine was running great then put in a new report starter ,now it sounds like a bad rod. Not sure how it could be since it was not running. Please I need some help. I have video that I can send if anyone can help.

Since you say it started doing this after changing the starter, try another starter. In my repair shop on two occasions over the years I have gotten rebuilt starters with defective starter drives that wouldn't stay retracted and made the type of noise you describe because the drive was

bouncing off the flywheel over and over.

In the jacking process could you have accidentally put pressure on the bottom of the oil pan? Those pans and 350 Buick pans are pretty shallow. A little oil canning and a throw could be bumping inside.

With the car running and properly supported you can use two hammers to tap the both sides of the pan at the same time.

As they say in the big company board rooms; we don't need to dwell on how we got here, this is our plan to move forward.
