Barney Eaton
How much work is it to replace the seal around the wing vent on a 39 Buick? Mine are old, hard, and cracked but still in one piece, since they are available I might replace them if it does not require disassembling the entire door
Daves1940Buick56S
Yeah, my '40 needs seals and glass in the doors, so I am getting ready to tackle this myself. Any advice welcome!Cheers, Dave
Terry Stock
Is it the opening quarter glass on the front door you refer to?My recollection from nearly 30 years ago is, take off the door panel & handles, remove the window garnish, and the crank should then be exposed to allow removal. But plan on the old glass breaking on you. So I hope you have a tame glazier with suitable replacement glass to cut.The new glass took some massaging into place and I did not get a perfect fit for the rubber in the narrow angle (a bit of a wrinkle).Regards Barney.
