Dynaflows have that rear pump, should be safe at any speed in Neutral. Put it in drive if you want to spin the engine for Power steering and a/c! Guest Doug Burton Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I once towed my '61 LeSabre about 20 miles in neutral. We tried to keep the speed under 35, but towards the end of the trip the engine turned over and almost caught. I had the key on to use signals, etc. Didn't do any damage as far as I could tell.
