I seem to remember that my father's 52 Buick, had a starter button on the floor. Also I cannot remember if my brother's 55 had one. Any comments or information on this subject would be appreciated.

Well, you were close, but no prize. The starter switch is actually on the carburetor. It is activated when, after turning the ignition switch to on, the gas pedal is depressed.

1955 still had this feature.
