1938 Dodge Vin Number NEED HELP

Hello Everyone

I just bought a 1938 Dodge Brothers Pick up truck. I need help with finding any information on the Vin. There doesn't seem to be any info on Canada made trucks for that year. The only number I can find is R198412 I really would like to know haw many of these truck were made. This is my first project that I'm attempting. I'm calling it time therapy to escape the real world. Thanks to everyone that can help. Neil

You could start here - http://t137.com/registry/help/decode.php In that era there was no such thing as a VIN, just a serial number. If you have an engine number this might be useful - http://t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php You could try the Dodge Truck section of this forum.

Thank you for the info, I've tried the decoder already with no luck. But I will try to find the engine number today & work with that. I also will find the dodge section of this forum. I was not a where there was one, seeing that I just signed up last night. Thank you very much for your help. Neil

Dodge Brothers RC (1/2 ton) serial numbers start with:

Detroit-8186701

Los Angeles-9251001

Windsor-8913201

Engine serial numbers begin with T58-1001 and T58X-1001

From my 1938 Dodge truck parts book issued May 25, 1938.
