Guest Mc_Reatta
The 5 volts comes from the BCM so the wire is good between the two. Unfortunately, you need a new BCM as the voltage should go from 0 when off thru 5 at high speed.
Ronnie
It appears this thread has died an untimely death. That's disappointing when it appeared it was near a conclusion.
brantgab
I'm waiting for my BCM to arrive. I've never changed out a computer before. Any tips or precautions?
Guest Mc_Reatta
Disconnect battery as BCM is powered all the time.Have some contact cleaner handy to clean connectors while they're apartChange both PROMs from the old one to the new one.Not hard, but some mounting screws are hard to get at back in there behind the glovebox. harry yarnell
BCM is easy to remove. If I recall, one screw holds it right in front. Glovebox has to be removed...or am I thinking Cadillac. Still early before morning coffee...
