Guest BDG
I'm going to be starting work on a '61 Buick Electra soon but parts sources seem almost non existent. If anyone can point me to people/businesses that specialize in these cars it would be greatly appreciated.
Thriller
The good news is that the mechanical stuff is pretty common overall. The bad news is there's a lot of stuff that is scarce. You can try The Buick Farm for NOS parts. Classic Buicks has a lot of stuff. Kanter has a lot as well, but tends to be pricey. Things like the correct carpet are made of unobtainium.Good luck. The full size '61 Buicks are a favourite of mine (doesn't hurt that I have one patiently awaiting restoration).
mp65riv
You may also want to try Rock Auto for mechanical parts, and SMS Upholstery for fabric, vinyl, carpet, and door panels. There are a few salvage yards, including Wheatbelt Auto that specialize in classic buicks. I found all of these sources to be helpful, and just finished getting my 61 Electra 225 back on the road.
