ply33
There was a fairly major rear end redesign on Plymouth in either '36 or '37, with "badge engineering" I'd expect the same for Dodge. So this might not hold for you.My '33 calls for SAE 110 in winter and SAE 160 in summer. I use Sta-Lube SAE 140 "Multi-Purpose Hypoid Gear Oil" from the local hardware store in mine. With respect to the hypoid nature of the lubricant, I know that early hypoid lubricants could be an issue and many people still swear they are. But he container specifically says "Not corrosive to copper, bronze or other non-ferrous alloy bearings and bushings". Sta-Lube is a subsidiary of CRC which is a company that is big enough and been around enough that I expect them to label that correctly. In addition, I don't recall seeing any non-ferrous bushings in my rear axle when I had it a part lo those many decades ago.
