Paul Falabella
OK what's the trick to get the right valve cover off with A/C. Took rear bracket off compressor, didn't do it. Don't tell it's gotta come off! Thanks in advance
old-tank
PaulIt has been a while, but I don't remember removing the compressor. Maybe the fuel/vacuum lines, transmission dipstick bracket, rotate to the center. The compressor will not move much without disconnecting refrigerant lines.Willie
Paul Falabella
Thanks Willie, Compressor doesn't seem to have a pivot to move at all. Gen. is the tensioner. Comp. is just above valve cover and doesn't clear the valve train. I'll try rotating towards center tonight.
Paul Falabella
It's that pesky fuel/vacuum line. Disconnected everything from the fuel pump, front of carb and manifold. Lines can be moved up a little as an assembly. Cover can be coaxed/jiggled up and out. Gotta be careful after it's painted reinstalling. With all that room, you think it could have been made simpler!
