Guest 47jag
I posted this http://forums.aaca.org/f120/mystery-switch-333100.html in the Tech forum and got nothing. The car is a 1924 Dodge 6. Was this switch specific to Dodge? What would it do? Any ideas?Art

TonyAus
This an extra air valve - a popular 1920s accessory. The valve introduces extra air into the intake manifold to lean out the mixture and improve economy when running easy. As the effect reduced engine braking, the valve had a "brake" position which closed it. A great idea which probably resulted in thousands of burnt exhaust valves!1924 six cyinder Dodge?? I think not. The sixes were introduced in 1928.
