65 floormats

Does anybody know what original equipment floor mats for a 65 GS looked like? The ones in mine are black with white tri-shields. They look pretty generic, and they don't look like they're pushing 50.

Buick made generic floor mats for its big cars - LeSabre, Wildcat, Riviera, and Electra. There was nothing model specific. What you have is what was available.

CARS is reproing the floor mats, and they look very nice. Good heavy wieght like the originals

Thanks for the information. I think that was a misstep on the part of Buick. I don't know about '65 T-Birds, but a friend's father had a '64, and about the only place on it you could find "Ford" was on the glass; same with another friend's 57 T-Bird. Everything said "Thunderbird," not Ford.

Thanks. I took a look; it wouldn't surprise me if that isn't where my mats came from. They certainly don't look 50 years old.

The only other option was the carpet inserts, a rectangular, hard plastic mat with chrome accents and spike-like appendages which allow them to secure to the carpets. They're a little hard to find, but very cool compared to the ubiquitious black tri-shield mats.
