Guest Dvernon372
Hi. Does anyone have the orginal paint code for the engine in a 31' century 6? I believe the correct color is a light green/turquoise? thanks. David
huptoy
It is a darker green but not a forest green. One photo was in the sun and the 2nd in the shade.Actual color is between the two.I am told that some 6 cyl engines were painted black like the 8 cyl.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PPG Platinum DistributerOhio Auto Kolor, Inc.700 S. Guest Dvernon372
Just what I needed. Thank you very much. We will be putting the engine back together soon and I wanted to be ready. Have a nice day.david
huptoy
Someone correct me if I am wrong. Try using unpainted nuts on the head as they look much flashier. Also, the oil float level unit should be painted white. Are you a member of the Hupmobile Club? If not, join. Guest Dvernon372
Thanks again. I sent an email to the hup club about a week ago as instructed on the website to get the mid year dues amount , so I can send in my application, but haven't heard back yet. huptoy
Every 2 months , the club publishes the PARTS LOCATOR newsletter with good information. My guess is your contact is traveling from CT to Lebanon Canada for a 5 day Hupmobile rally/tour starting Monday, July 16th. I believe the 2013 tour is in southern Indiana just north of Louisville, KY. They are a fun event and I plan to attend next year. If you don't bring your car, you are encouraged to ride with someone. The Hupp Club tour in Ingersoll was from the 9th to the 13th. They are probably sitting down for the farewell banquet at this posting. We would be there with them if not for a family thing. I have an original1930 Model S and the engine is green. The paint is not good enough to take a pic of it. The info that Hup toy gave you will be ok for you to use. If you are restoring this car to show you may want to consult the Hupp Club advisor on the 1931 Hupp S as to the correct engine paint color. You will receive this info when you join the club. Hopes this helps.
huptoy
Yes, Hupp36 is correct, the event is in Ingersoll and not Lebanon. Senior moment on my part!
