Zimm63
My 63 brake lights don't work. With the key on, power to one side of the switch on the master cylinder and none to the other side when the pedal is pushed. Bad switch is the obvious answer, so I replaced it. I had the same problem some years ago, and that was the cure. Not this time. Still have power to one side, none to the other when the pedal is pushed. What are the chances the new switch was bad out of the box? Is there something I am missing here?ThanksZimm
Jim Cannon
You might have a bad switch. You need to drop a few drops of brake fluid into the new switch to replace the air. You want to be compressing brake fluid, not air, in the switch because air is too compressible.Did you bleed the brakes after putting the new switch on? That might replace some of the air with fluid.
