KDirk Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Jon is correct, and I would add that the 88 and 89 models had slightly different "masking" the edges (blacked out area). For one thing, at least the 88's had more of a dark grey edge mask, and both 88 and 89 had a rectangular cutout within the mask to allow the VIN plate to be visible. On the newer production (and possibly 90/91 cars) the edge mask is black, and has a larger area cutout for the VIN to accommodate the newer style plate w/scannable bar code above the printed number.
