Guest Miller1212
Can't figure out how to change oil in rear differential- don't see a plug, and seems like I shouldn't have to drop the whole rear end. Thanks
Guest Miller1212
Thanks for your reply. If my future posts sound a bit clueless, here is why- The questions are really coming from my old partner in Texas-I'm in south Florida- he is too lazy, and anti computer to do this himself + plus he thinks it will get me involved. Thank s Again.By they way here is a preview of the next question. What would cause grinding of gears shifting into 3rd- only after the transmission has warmed up? Rusty_OToole
I never heard of a rear axle without a drain plug. Look for a plug on the differential. If there is none maybe the lowest bolt on the diff acts as a drain plug. See if one of them has a washer under it or just remove the lowest bolt and see what happens. Ben Bruce aka First Born
The lowest bolt is the way to go. Per the Shop Manual on my '50 anyway. Ben
