motoringicons
SOLD 12/23/2011This 1953 Jaguar XK 120 Coupe has a known ownership history from new and has been driven less than 26,000 miles since 1953. The car has been restored as needed over the years with a repaint in the original pale green color in about 2006 and new, correct dark red leather upholstery (including carpets, etc) that was expertly matched to the original. The chrome is in excellent condition. The chassis and engine bay are very clean and nicely detailed. Excellent glass. The fit and finish on the body is great with no evidence of repair, damage or abuse on any of the panels both inside and out. The dashboard is like new and all of the gauges work properly. Mechanically, this car has just been given an extensive "going over" by a noted Jaguar specialist. It runs and drives like new. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, does not smoke or heat up at all. It cruises effortlessly at highway speeds. The chassis is tight and responsive and the brakes are excellent. Everything works. The car has won a class award at the Meadowbrook Concours as well as won regional and national awards with the Jaguar Club. This Jaguar would be a great candidate for any upcoming Mille Miglia or other vintage sports car event and would also look very comfortable on a show field. Located near Indianapolis. The price is 59,500.00 but will consider offers. Please call 734-730-4274 or email: motoringicons@hotmail.com to schedule a viewing and a long test drive, or for more photos and information. Thank you. Edited December 28, 2011 by motoringicons (see edit history)
unimogjohn
Just wanted to let everyone know that I bought the Jaguar 120. Guy (broker), Greg (owner), and Chuck (GM of Jag service center) could not have been more helpful. We drove 1200 miles R/T to see it and make the deal. We just now have to go back with the trailer and bring her home to VA. The car was as described in the ad and was beautiful. We noted a couple of very minor issues and they are being fixed. All in all it was a great buying experience. Thanks everyone.

Paul Dobbin
It's nice to hear a happy ending to an appealing advertisement. Often we see these neat cars and never know the outcome unless it'a an unhappy ending. Thanks for sharing what we all hope to be the norm in antique vehicle transactions. trimacar
John, nice car and glad you're getting it, and sounds like a great buying experience. You know, there's a clause in the contract (the one where I put the top on your Buick) that states I get a free ride in any new acquisition! I plan to call you on that..
