pint4
Are all convertible coupe Packard convertible tops held in place by snaps? I am referring to the kinds of snaps that allow you to unsnap the cloth top from the wood part of the mechanism such as along each of the side windows? I always thought they were more secure than that. Thanks!
trimacar
My 38 has, and I've seen it on other Packards, snaps along the side of the top above the windows. These snaps are a special style, mounted to a small flat plate of metal, and glued into place, with a flap of fabric glued over it (the inner reinforcement of top fabric along the top border). Thus, you don't have exposed snap covers on the outside of the top, the side of the top is smooth.Hope that helps....
Restorer32
1932-1934 Packards have 3 hidden snaps on each side above the windows. The '35 is similar I believe.
