AACA Library
From January 11-March 10, 1941 Pontiac salesmen were encouraged to participate in a sales competition (Ring the Bell with Pontiac) that would offer prizes for the number of cars sold. New Pontiacs were worth 600 points, used cars (over $50) were worth 300 points, and "junkers & used cars under $50" were worth nothing. Salesmen could order prizes from a 50-page catalog that had everything from radios, pens and golf clubs to dining sets and toys for the kids. Pontiac was so excited about the program that they even mailed the catalog to the salesman's wife! I don't know if Pontiac offered this program other years but I assume your bell was part of this program. I have no idea what your bell is worth, that isn't what I do, but if you are ever in Hershey stop by the AACA Library to see the full catalog. -Chris
