Rosiesdad
Hi guys, I found a stripped lug bolt on the right front of my super. What are my options? Should I try and find a used one that certainly won't have the same wear as the front left? Are new ones available? Can I have this one repaired?A helicoil kit for that size costs a fortune!TIA,Phil
D Yaros
I presume you are talking about the stud onto which the lug nut is fastened? Are they not pressed in originally? Have your friendly/local machine shop pop it out and pop a new one in.
Ben Bruce aka First Born
D Yaros, Buicks of this era used lug bolts, not studs and nuts. Phil, bolts should be available. Assume the threads in the hub are ok? Perhaps obtain a "thread chaser" from your local auto parts store and clean the threads up. I bet some on e on the forums will have a spare bolt. Or try John Hemingway 515 835 9800. He runs a Buick testoration/parts business in Iowa. Good luck Ben
Rosiesdad
Nope. The threads in the drum are stripped. I have new lug bolts. I'm considering hub/drum replacement p
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Yep, probably the best thing. Someone must have gotten carried away with an air wrench. Too bad. Ben
