Guest 1922 Buick
Anybody have a Buffum valve cage remover for sale. Soaked the valve cages in the cylinder head for two weeks with Kroil oil, tried tapping them out with a block of wood from inside the cylinder head. This has worked in the past but no luck with these valve cages coming out as of now.Sincerely,1922 BuickJeff Kearney
Dave Mellor NJ
I assume the swastika is pre-nazi.
Guest 1922 Buick
Hi Dave,You are absolutely correct. The symbol has quit a history pre-dating 1933-1945. 1922 BuickJeff Kearney
Terry Wiegand
The cage puller was designed and built by the Buffum Tool Company of Louisiana, Missouri (on the Mississippi River). The swastika originally was an Indian symbol for Good Luck.Quite a few companies used this symbol in their advertising. The most memorable was The Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company, Waterloo, Iowa. They built the 'Waterloo Boy' farmtractor which evolved into the first John Deere, two-cylinder tractor. Indeed, the swastika has quite a long history behind it. And, by the way, the little tool works perfectly onstubborn cages. Terry Wiegand
