daledon
I have one more question..How do I tell for sure if my car is a 50 for sure..I got it at a old farm place, and the guy thinks it;s a 1950..The body # is 6839TP....The serial # on the door is 37115590..The red tag on the firewall is unreadable..Can anyone help with this..What is the difference between the 50 & the 51? Oh, the # on the engine block is D34-264490 if that helps..Thanks Don
Rusty_OToole
Your serial # denotes a 1950 D33 (Wayfarer) made in Detroit. Engine # is also 1950 Dodge so it is probably the original engine.50 and 51 were very similar cars except for redesigned grillework, the hood and fenders, doors and other trim details. There may also be some minor mechanical improvements but nothing earth shaking. If you do a web search I am sure you can turn up some pictures if you are curious about the differences in appearance.
