25 Stewart Carb Question

No, no gasket used on the float bowl top. If fact, most of the Stewart carbs have a small ident cut out of the top of the bowl for a vent. Going from memory, maybe 1/4 inch wide by a 1/16 deep. The bowl must vent for fuel to move in/out of the bowl. While some will argue that the vent was in the center over the fuel needle, most have a dust cover (normally removed so the owner could push down on the fuel needle to stop a leak) which was supposed to cover the needle.
