BuickCrazy
Do the 1955 Special, Century, Super and Roadmaster all share the same bumperettes and dagmars or are the ones for the Super and Roadmaster different than the Special and Century? Guest Rob McDonald
RANDY, this is way before my time but you got me curious - where did the name "Dagmar" come from, in relation to the big bullet-shaped bumper tips on Buicks and Cadillacs? Turns out, it was the TV stage name of actress Virginia Ruth Egnor, who had a comedy show in the early '50s. She played a dumb but crafty blonde and had remarkable bumpers of her own. I didn't mention the bumper connection. Regretfully she never answered my letter and has since died.................Bob
