1950 Roadmaster trim question

On my 1950 Roadmaster, the big sweepspear panel has some embossed lines or stripes in it and there are traces of red paint in the stripes. Does anyone know if these lines or stripes are supposed to be painted red, or is this an attempt at customizing that was done by the previous owner?

Good question. I wondered the same thing. I have gold colored paint on the recessed stainless" Roadmaster" trim under the side windows, and black paint on the" BUICK" bumper mustash. Was thinking it should be Red as earlier cars had red painted on chrome trim, but don't know.

Mine does have the gold or yellowish paint on the "Roadmaster" trim letters below the side windows, and it was old and faded, so I have painted it back and assume it is correct--will try to attach a photo of that. Also, I do know that the "BUICK" letters in the upper grille bar should be painted black.

Still looking for advice on the embossed lines in the sweep spear moulding.
