Ignition Switch issues...

When I started working on my 26 Buick Standard, the ignition and light switch was frozen in the housing. I removed the entire housing from the dash and freed the switches, cleaned the contacts inside and reinstalled everything. None of them work though......what else could be wrong? I slightly remember some sort of electrical component on the back of the housing where the wires are connected. What is it? Are there any fuses in the car? I have the car running by bypassing the ignition. Any suggestions?

There are no fuses. That relay looking thing on the back of the switch is a current interrupter for the light circuit. if a short occurs in the headlights the interrupter acts as a circuit breaker and makes a loud noise and the light start blinking off and on.

If you can't get the switch working Bobs Automobilia can restore it to you 805 434 2963
