Guest 97welter
When I started working on my 26 Buick Standard, the ignition and light switch was frozen in the housing. I removed the entire housing from the dash and freed the switches, cleaned the contacts inside and reinstalled everything. None of them work though......what else could be wrong? I slightly remember some sort of electrical component on the back of the housing where the wires are connected. What is it? Are there any fuses in the car? I have the car running by bypassing the ignition. Any suggestions?
Leif Holmberg
Here is a wiring diagram, take a look at the two 3 finger contacts that you have put them on their right places inside the switch. Leif in Sweden.
critterpainter
There are no fuses. That relay looking thing on the back of the switch is a current interrupter for the light circuit. if a short occurs in the headlights the interrupter acts as a circuit breaker and makes a loud noise and the light start blinking off and on. If you can't get the switch working Bobs Automobilia can restore it to you 805 434 2963
