'48 pickup front brake help?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have stock 1948 chevy pickup front brake assemblies. I plan to drive this truck alot. What should I do to make sure it will be safe? ( I'm installing new brake lines and master cylinder) The brake shoes and linings look like new. Should I replace all the springs and other little parts along with a new wheel cylinder? Are there any possible upgrades I should know about? I don't want to do anything visable that would take away from the original look of the front end.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate your help.

Dwight

I would add all new spring hardware, wheel cylinders, hoses & lines etc.

They are easy to get ; and not costly !

Upgrade :

Use Silicone Dot 5 brake fluid for very long dependable life !

Do it right !

Safer that way...
