Guest scott mich bca # 6619
I'm looking for an outside mirror for a 1955 driver's side Buick. Although I only need the mirror, not the bracket, so I either side could do.
Scott Mich
Assistant Director
Chicagoland Chapter

Guest scott mich bca # 6619
FireballV8
I am aware that Buick Specialists has them. I was afraid of the quailty. Have you actualy seen them?
I bought some repro portholes that were made overseas, that were so bad, my originals were better. Not only the quality, put the paint looked like it was put on by a child.
Then to top it off, there are three pieces, all three pieces were shipped in one bag, scratching and rubbing on each other.
I returned them and had my originals re-platted.
But let me know if you have seen them.
Thanks,
Scott
old-tank
Scott
the ones for the 40-60 series look good and have held up for 3-4 years in good shape
Willie
FireballV8
Scott
I know about the portholes, they are horrible. I bought one as a sample and its not very good. I have one of the mirrors on my car for about six years now and it looks pretty good, but the cars been garaged this whole time. I actually have an NOS one for a Roadmaster I bought for my convertible. There is a difference between the 40/60 and 50/70 mirrors. They are not the same.
Good luck Scott, I know its difficult buying reproduction, thats a good reason not to ever buy a restored 55-57 Chevy. Its an american car restored with chinese parts.
