Guest SamCanzo
My new project is a 1962 Chrysler Newport and first task is converting the brakes from drum to disk. Any help on where to get a conversion kit for a reasonable price? Or if there are any alternate vehicle is could pull disk brakes off of that would fit. Thanks

Rusty_OToole
Spindles from late sixties B bodies will fit but the brakes they use are obsolete. The best choice is 73 up E body Challenger and Cuda spindles but they are getting rare. Same spindles are used on 75-76 Valiant and Dart V8 if you can find them.75-79 Cordoba and early 80s New Yorkers were the last B bodies. Their spindles may fit. There was an article on this in one of the Mopar magazines a few years ago. Apparently the spindles from an Aspen, Volare, Fifth Avenue etc will bolt on but are not exactly the same as the originals. The upper mounting point is 3/8" off. This may make it a little difficult to get the alignment right but there are offset bushings for this made by Moog. This is all from memory. The point is there should be spindles and brakes from a later Mopar that will bolt on if you can find them. Hope someone can clarify this further.
