kdml
Before I start painting the trunk on my '65 Riviera, I would like to know what this bracket is for. I am guessing it has something to do with mounting the spare tire (mine did not have one). Mine is pretty beat up and looks like part of it has broken off. Anyone have a picture of a complete piece, including what the other parts look like to mount the spare. If I have to repair this I would like to do it before I paintThanks
RivNut
Here's a picture of what should be there, and something I copied and pasted to show you something similar to the rest of the hardware. My stuff is buried in a box at the back of a shelf in the shed so it was easier to 'google' for a picture. I think the washer isn't used on the Rivieras. I'm sure that someone will set me straight if it is, or perhaps they can post an actual picture of the spare tire in place with the cover removed.Ed
kdml
Thanks for the pictures - they explain everything. Looks like I need the metal piece that fits into the plate mounted to the trunk floor. It looks easy enough to makeThanks again
