46 or 47 Super convertible?

Hello,

This is my first post in this forum. I was offered a 1946 Super convertible. The car needs a total restoration, has all the trim removed, rear fenders, interior, gauges... The engine has been rebuild, also the brakes. How can I tell if it s a 46 or 47 model? The identification tag is not on the car.

What are the differences between the 2 years? Is the body trim the same? (moldings)

The grille is different between '46 and 7. But the ID tag on the cowl will tell you for sure what you are looking at.

Either a 46 or 47 convertible would be awesome, but which ID tag is missing? The Vin ID or the cowl tag?

Notice the trim piece around the front medallion, on the 47 it goes up and around. The 46 does not have the extra trim piece. IMHO it looks better on the 46

The seller just found the cowl tag. The car is a 46 model, and 56C ( I think it means it is a convertible).

Is there any site where I can decode the paint codes and interior trim?
