Guest tom pre Posted August 2, 2010 Share Posted August 2, 2010 24 6 45 buick ques. the large valve inside the main exhuast heat valve is very much frozen in the open position.worked on this 3 weeks with blaster & heat. no luck. any ideas ? unimogjohn Posted August 3, 2010 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Tom, most of us just remove it, and run without it. If it is in the fully open position, then I would not worry about it. With modern gas, you do not need carb heat. I do not have mine connected in the 23 or 28, in fact I have the 28s in and out exhaust tubes blocked as well as the heat riser connection at the exhaust manifold.
