alsfarms
I am looking at setting up a multiple carb set-up on an old engine. I would like to use 1 barrel down draft carbs. Please respond if you have experience as to what, more or less late model carb, has an accelerator pump, adjustable jetting and is capable of tuning for a multi-carb. application. I am considering, Solex, Stromberg, Holley, Weber and Carter or others that are affordable and have repair parts available. The carb I choose will need to flow 200 CFM. Give me your thoughts, or refer me to another site that may have experience.:confused:Alan
carbking
Each have benefits and liabilities (although the only benefit of the Solex is price). You simply have to weigh each in light of what YOU want.573-392-7378 (9-4 Mon-Wed central time).Jon.
alsfarms
Hello Jon,I took your phone advice and studied your website and others on the internet. I have decided to use the Carter W-1 574S for my multi carb application. You article on tuning was very good also. I think I can at least get to the point that I can make it idle, and rev. As I get deeper into this project I will be calling you again. Thanks, Alan
