Guest Jerald.Krutsch
Does anyone know of a Vintage Car guy in North Texas area that can make and install the driver's side windshield of a split windshield 49 Buick Sedan??? Any help or direction you can give me will be appreciated.
Bhigdog
If the WS is flat glass any decent glass shop can cut a new one from laminated safety plate. You will most likely need a new gasket. Steele rubber can supply that. I hope you have a fat wallet..............Bob
WWS
Its not all that bad, I just replaced all my windows in the 46. The front seal was a couple hundred if I remember correctly. Having all new glass is worth it. I ended up buying a body repair manual to see how the front winshield came out. Actually easier than I thought. Lockhouse
There is actually a 1950's GM Glass Replacement manual that talks you through step by step how to replace the glass. It crops up on CD on eBay occasionally. Well worth it.
