2010 Texas Tour Invitation

For any Texas-area antique car fans who did not receive a Texas Tour invitation in the mail, a summary is below. To request the full registration form, see the contact info at bottom. Sponsored by Gulf Coast Region, AACA.

2010 Texas Tour -- Bryan, Texas, April 8-11

Join us as we explore the winding roads and bluebonnet-covered hills and fields of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com><st1:PlaceName w:st=Brazos</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">River </st1:PlaceType>country, tour great historic sites and meet up with old-car fans from throughout <st1:State w:st="on">Texas</st1:State> on the 57th Annual Texas Tour.

We'll kick off with early-bird Thursday afternoon activities that include optional on-your-own tours of various Texas A&M facilities, charmingly restored downtown <st1:City w:st="on">Bryan</st1:City> and other attractions, followed by an evening ice-cream social.

Friday will feature car judging, a ladies' event and tour of the fascinating George Bush Presidential Library, lunch in downtown <st1:City w:st="on">Bryan</st1:City>, a driving tour to Calvert, a visit to a chocolate factory, and an evening dinner and style show.

Saturday features a driving tour to <st1:State w:st="on">Washington</st1:State> on the <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Brazos</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">State Park</st1:PlaceType> for a barbecue lunch, visits to historic Navasota</ST1:place and <st1:City w:st="on">Anderson</st1:City>, and stops available at antiques shops, museums and a car collection. We'll close the afternoon with a visit to the <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Aggie Cadet</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Corps</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Museum</st1:PlaceType>, and dine in the heart of Aggieland at <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Texas</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">A&M</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>'s Duncan Hall.

For rooms, call (979) 693-9891 or (800) 228-2828. Say that your reservation is for the antique car <st1:State w:st="on">TEXAS</st1:State> TOUR April 8-11, to receive a discounted rate of $89/night for a King, 2 Queens, or 2 Double Bed room. 125 rooms are available on a first-come basis, with a March 20 cut-off for the group rate. If all the blocked rooms are gone when you call, the hotel will provide information on a backup hotel location at the same $89 rate, provided you call prior to the March 20 cut-off date (Rooms can be booked to run from the 7th through the 11th with check out on AM of the 12th at same $89 rate). The hotel has elevators and handicapped-equipped guest rooms, so mention any special needs when making your reservation. Due to limited hotel parking, trailers will be parked off-site, within a block if the weather is favorable.

Looking forward to the Texas Tour this comming weekend. I think it is our favorite

antique car event of the year. Merry and I always have the best time at the Texas Tour and get to visit with many friends that we may only see this one time of the year.

If you have never been to the Texas Tour, it's not too late!
