g-g-g0
This was orginally posted under POST WAR TECH. Several lookers but no info. Surely someone has information.I have been told that an early '60's full size Buick differential third member will bolt right in to a '57 Buick rear axle housing, thus solving a portion of the closed drive shaft issue. Can someone please direct me to a reference and/or specific years that will inter change? Thanks,Gary
sean1997
You can use an open drive third member from a '61-'62 fullsize Buick for a direct swap or a '63-'65 fullsize Buick thrid member if you have the axles resplined. Then you just need something to locate the rear end once the torque tube is gone, like '60-'72 Chevy truck trailing arms. See this thread:'58 Rear end replacement - V8Buick.com
Guest 55lartz
Will the 61, 62 member bolt up to a 55 rear end?
