Hi,

Just a quick one - I am going to be picking up a remote door at the weekend and was wondering if there are any tips to removing it (including all toggle controls, cabling etc.) from the car being parted out.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Keith

The interior joystick comes off with 2 phillips headed screws from the door panel. From there you have to get the cables to move up and out of the retaining slots so you can pull them off. Bring tape and a sharpie to label them because most of the time the colour coding is hard to read. This will allow you to thread the cable into the door. The mirror glass comes out with the phillips headed screw on the leading edge of the mirror mount, this will get the glass and the mounting "basket" loose and allow you to pull it out a good ways if not all the way out. I'm honestly blanking on how to get the base off of the door but you might have to pull the doorskin to do it. Deffering to others on that one.

You will want to pull the door skin off of the door to remove the mirror base. Disconnect the cables from the inside handle and leave hanging. Leave the complete mirror head on the door. Remove door skin. As you remove door skin, thread cables out through door. While the door skin is off, retrieve the rubber grommet that the cables pass through the door inside. Use it on your car to keep water and drafts out.
