buick840
I'm looking at transplanting a 322 into my 55. The engine and rear end came out of a going 55 Century as the owner decided to go with late model engine and and rear end.The motor is complete except for the 4 Brl carburetor which is the reason for this post. What was the best option for carbs on a 55 Century? Carter? Anyone have reference numbers?Does anyone have a good carb to suit that could be rebuilt or better still.............does anyone have a rebuilt one? MrEarl
While I think 55 and 56 came with Rochester and Carter, the Carter will be the easiest to find and is my choice. The tag number you will be looking for is 2197S or 2358S. A 1954 - 2982S will fit but the 55's are better carbs.
