Guest BJM
Was CC optional in 1942? I am communicating with a seller who has a Super Model 56S and he states it has CC. I believe this is OK. This is an interesting model to me but IMO looks better in 1941. Edited December 28, 2009 by BJM (see edit history)
Mark Shaw
My "70 Years of Buick" book indicates that compound carburetion had been improved for 1942 to make the 320 CI engine develop 165 HP @ 3800 RPM to make this Buick the hotest production car in the world. Joseph P. Indusi
Compound Carburetion was generally optional on the 40 series Specials. I believe the Supers and Roadmasters came with it from the factory. Many were converted to single carb using older manifolds for fuel efficiency reasons and ease of carburetor adjustment.joe
bunchabuix
The Super, series 50, engine was the 248 c.i. and came with the CC as standard equipment.
