Juha Paavo Kaita
Hi!A friend of mine owns a Buick Special from 1938. The car is fully restored. Now the owner noticed that the gas tank is leaking. Is the any place to buy NOS or good used gas tanks for this Buick?JuhaTurku, Finland

Mark Shaw
Chevs of the 40s sells new tanks for GM cars. I have been thinking of replacing my 38 Special tank too. I live only a few blocks from their store and can take some measurements to see if there is a match. One of our local BCA members remembered that there may be only a difference in the filler location... Guest Tishabet
I can't find reference to it now, but I am fairly sure that there is a 70s GM tank that is a direct replacement...
Guest OLBUICKS
I have heard that a 62 or 63 Chevy Impala is the same... Not sure
Guest bdl38s
Torque tube volume 8, issue 4 says a '72 nova tank will work, with some adjustments. Vol 14 issue 2 also has info on a tank substitute. If you or anyone has the vol. 14 issue 2 let me know what the article says.Brian
