Can not clear and reset computer

:mad: I have a fantastic 1988 Reatta. But, I live in Brownsville, TX and down here they don't seem to know about anything other than BIG PICK-UP TRUCKS!

I keep getting a message on my dash about an electrical proublem. So, I found that there was a short in the fuel system module and had it replaced. I still get that same message and when I try to do a CPU diognostic everything starts out as OK. But, if I click on anything to go further into the diognostic, I get a message that there is a Proublem with whatever I'm looking at. I took my Reatta to a GMC DEALERSHIP AND THEY SEEM AS LOST AS I AM.

Can anyone give me an idea how to clear and reset my CPU?

Try un hooking your battery and then re hooking it. That should clear your codes

oil pressure sending unit. put on your gages screen and see if it is topping out, mine is ding same thing, the message goes off when gae drops back down, just have not changed mine yet

Are you talking about the status screen ? Those are samples of what you would see if there is a problem and does not mean that you have one.

Go to reatta.net and download the diagnostics booklet. That will tell you how to get into the real diagnostics mode and pull the codes.

Are you reading off the Dash or the CRT (touch screen)? If it says communicatin problem then you may just need a cover for the ALDI connector.
