NTX5467
The Dexron family of GM ATF replaced the prior Type A fluid spec for transmissions. You can still find it (Type A) at convenience stores and grocery stores, and possibly a few auto supplies. GM did not renew the licenses for Dexron III fluid when it started with Dexron VI. I suspect the current Dex III fluid is like it was previously, but who's to know if the companies might have lessened it somewhat--same thing with Ford's Type F fluid. Most of the oil companies now sell Dexron III as "Multi-Vehicle ATF", with the basic spec of Dexron III listed in the fine print on the back of the bottle.Dexron VI is something of a semi-synthetic fluid, from what I've read. It has much higher levels of durability than Dexron III did.Regards,NTX5467
